Fall Drama Preview

ThCreare some dramas that caught my attention for the upcoming fall season.



Danda Rin is starring Takeuchi Yuko and Kitamura Kazuki. Should be interesting to watch Takeuchi-san as a firm inspector.




Legal High 2 is the top of the list for many and being able to have a sequel should be good. I just need to catch up on season 1. And after the success of Hanzawa Naoki, Sakai Masato is not to be missed.



Doctor X 2 starring Yonekura Ryoko. I like her attitude in season 1 and looking forward to season 2.



Dokushin Kizoku starring SMAP's Tsuyopon and Kitagawa Keiko. This should be interesting to watch.



Finally TBS's Sunday drama,A I knowsLOVE! This is a must watch for me. Nothing can go wrong with Kimura Takuya and Shibasaki Kou combi. Their chemistry is electrifying! After the very successful Hanzawa Naoki last season, I hope the ratings for Ando Lloyd can surpass that!

A drama about a hard-working woman and the strenuous effort of the labor standards inspectors. TAKEUCHI YUKO plays an unwavering labor standards inspector who does her best at fighting against illegal employment (black labor) and cruel work conditions. She changed into a short hairdo for the first time in 12 years in order to portray this role.



The protagonist goes from company to company in order to make sure they adhere to the Labor Standards Act. Protecting the laborers is her top priority. She doesn't yield to any pressure, has a very strong personality and a commanding presence. Before she used to be a normal worker herself, but her former employer decided to "get rid of the nuisance" and drove her off. At the labor standards office she had to hold her ground against her male colleagues (e.g. MATSUZAKA TORI), while fighting against well-known problems in various companies such as unpaid overtime, lack of management, and power harassment.

The winner of multiple drama awards, lawyer comedy 'Legal High' is back with a 2nd season and a new script by KOSAWA RYOTA ('ALWAYS' trilogy), in which he once again serves seemingly dry themes related to the law as a sparkling comedy cocktail topped by an even more sparkling lead actor. Many regulars and a lot of new faces are going to give the new season a familiar yet fresh feeling.



This time the unbeaten eccentric lawyer (SAKAI MASATO) and his uptight assistant/debtor (ARAGAKI YUI) find themselves facing against a former elite public prosecutor (OKADA MASAKI) inside the courtroom. Unlike the protagonist, he isn't all about winning and rather aims for a mutual agreement of both parties.

YONEKURA RYOKO returns as the freelance surgeon Daimon Michiko. In the first season, we got to know her as a skilled surgeon who disliked the ties of obligation in the medical world and only works for a very high reward. The cool protagonist and intense story-telling became a hot topic last year and earned the drama a very high average rating of 19.1%.



For the new season the setting is moved from a branch hospital to the main hospital of the Teito Medical University. This allows for many new characters and more heated confrontations. FUJIKI NAOHITO plays another cool surgeon who seems to be very interested in our protagonist.



DOKUSHIN KIZOKU

Right now, 34% of all men in their early thirties and 60% of all women in their late twenties are unmarried in Japan. This romantic comedy reflects this phage of life of both sexes with a funny story about a love triangle. KUSANAGI TSUYOSHI plays a single man who lives affluently and feels that he doesn't need to get married anytime soon. It's an original story written by SATO SHIMAKO ('Unfair The Answer') and directed by TAKEUCHI HIDEKI ('Nodame Cantabile', 'Thermae Romae').



The heroine (KITAGAWA KEIKO) is a woman who dreams of becoming a successful movie scriptwriter. She was already proposed to by various men, but she simply can't agree with the view of marriage of most men. She soon realizes that reality is harsh and that she has to give up of her dream. When she is about to return back to her hometown, she happens to meet the president of a movie company and movie producer (Kusanagi) who prefers to do all things in his own pace, and his younger brother (ITO HIDEAKI) who also works at the movie company and is stuck in the middle of a divorce.



ANDO ROID ~A.I. KNOWS LOVE?~

SMAP's KIMURA TAKUYA plays the two roles of an ingenious physicist named "Matsushima Reiji" and a mysterious android named "Ando Roido" that came from 100 years in the future. SHIBASAKI KOU plays the physicist's fianc e who is being protected by the android. ANNO HIDEAKI and his prot gTSURUMAKI KAZUYA from the famed anime series 'NEON GENESIS EVANGELION' are reportedly the ones who fleshed out this unique concept for TBS. The script is handled by no other than NISHIOGI YUMIE, the mastermind behind 'SPEC' and 'KEIZOKU'.



The physicist finds out that someone is trying to kill him and his fianc e because of theory he recently constructed. However, he isn't able to avoid his death and loses his life in a mysterious explosion on a plane one day in 2013. His fianc e is still alive and grieving over his sudden death, but she doesn't know that he was murdered and that the killer is still out there and aiming for her next. All of a sudden an android appears from out of her desk's drawer and materializes to look exactly like her fianc . Apparently he was sent from the future to protect her from the killer.
